Sneak Peek new footage from "Extant", writer/executive producer Steven Spielberg's upcoming sci fi thriller series, debuting July 2, 2014, starring Oscar winner Halle Berry as 'Molly', a female astronaut who delivers an 'unearthly' baby.
"I'm always on the lookout for amazing roles," said Berry, "and when you see material that contains this strong of auspices, nuance and complexity, it compels me to run toward it no matter the medium."
In the series, Berry's character is pregnant with a baby that is part human and part alien. The family intrigue deepens in subsequent episodes and impacts world events.
"'Extant' is a very original concept with layers of humanity, mystery and surprise that reveal itself throughout the script", said Nina Tassler, president of CBS Entertainment.
CBS will distribute the new series both domestically and overseas.
