"Daredevil: The Man Without Fear"

Marvel Studios co-president Kevin Feige said that Marvel Comics' "Daredevil", back at Disney-owned Marvel Studios from Fox, is currently in active development. Fox previously produced one "Daredevil" movie in 2003 and was required to make another film before October 10, 2012 or risk seeing the rights to the character revert back to Marvel.

"'Daredevil' is back at Marvel," said Feige, "and there are lots of talented people figuring out what to do with him next..."

"We love 'Daredevil', there are amazing stories — the Bendis run over 5 or 6 years, running into a Brubaker run was amazing. All sorts of things before that era we could use — so I think you can bet on seeing something from 'Daredevil' in the not to distant future."

Created by writer-editor Stan Lee and illustrators Bill Everett and Jack Kirby, the character first appeared in "Daredevil" #1 (April 1964).

"...living in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of New York City, 'Matt Murdock' is blinded by a radioactive substance that falls from an oncoming vehicle. While he no longer can see, the radioactive exposure heightens his remaining senses beyond normal human ability.

"His father, a boxer named 'Jack Murdock', supports him as he grows up, though Jack is later killed by gangsters after refusing to throw a fight. After donning a yellow and black, and later a dark red, costume, Matt seeks out revenge against his father's killers as the superhero 'Daredevil', fighting against his many enemies including 'Bullseye'  'Kingpin' and sometimes ally 'Black Widow'.

"Daredevil's nickname is "The Man Without Fear".

Daredevil has since appeared in various forms of media including animated series, video games, merchandise and the Fox feature starring Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Michael Clarke Duncan and Colin Farrell in a manic performance as the villain 'Bullseye'.
