"Batman/Superman" Updates: Bryan Cranston Talks 'Lex Luthor'

Emmy Award winning actor Bryan Cranston ("Breaking Bad") was recently interviewed by the Boston Globe, addressing rumors that he is an international fan favorite to be cast as 'Lex Luthor' in director Zack Snyder's developing "Man Of Steel" sequel, tentatively titled "Batman/Superman".

"I've heard that too," said Cranston delighted by all the attention.

"There’s some irons in the fire, things that people are talking about ... but nothing is set..."

Cranston was asked if he would contact Oscar winner Gene Hackman, who played Lex Luthor for director Richard Donner, should he need advice playing the super-villain role.

"I can just see how that phone call would go," said Cranston with a wicked laugh. "'Gene? Hi, this is Bryan Cranston.’ '‘Who? Bryan Cranston? What do you want? How did you get this number?’ "

"I like 'Lex Luthor'," said Cranston."I think he's misunderstood...he's a loveable, sweet man."
