"The Amazing Spider-Man 2": Enter 'Gwen Stacy'

Take another look @ actress Emma Stone as 'Gwen Stacy' on New York's 'George Washington Bridge' in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2", wearing the same street clothes her Marvel Comics' character wore when she died in "Amazing Spider-Man" #121.

"Essentially the argument is that 'Spider-Man' kills her by accident," said Stone about her character.

"...so the person she loves is the person who kills her, which is the most horrifying thing.

"Apparently people unsubscribed to the comic book when that happened because they were just so flipped-out over it.

"But, of course, I want to stay true to that."

In Marvel Comics' "The Night Gwen Stacy Died", 'Spider-Man' is shocked to learn the 'Green Goblin' has kidnapped his girlfriend 'Gwen', holding her captive at the 'George Washington Bridge'.

Spider-Man arrives just in time to witness the Goblin hurl the frightened Gwen off the top of the bridge.

Acting on instinct, Spider-Man quickly wraps his web around Gwen’s ankles apparently saving her – only to find out that he also accidentally broke her neck.
