Twentieth Century Fox reports that principal photography has started on "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes", "...as a growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by 'Caesar' is threatened by a band of human survivors..."
"...they reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species..."
Cast includes Andy Serkis reprising his role as Caesar, Jason Clarke ("Zero Dark Thirty"), Gary Oldman ("The Dark Knight Rises"), Keri Russell ("The Americans"), Toby Kebbell ("Wrath of the Titans"), Kodi Smit-McPhee ("ParaNorman"), Enrique Murciano ("Black Hawk Down"), Kirk Acevedo ("The Thin Red Line") and Judy Greer ("The Descendants").
"Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" is directed by Matt Reeves ("Cloverfield") for producers Peter Chernin, Dylan Clark Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. Tom Hammel is executive producer.
VFX house WETA Digital, will again render photo-realistic, 'emotionally-engaging apes'.
Fox will release "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" worldwide, May 23, 2014.
