Stake Out "The Vampire Diaries" - "The Originals"

The CW will air the "The Vampire Diaries" episode, "The Originals" April 25, 2013, as a 'back-door' pilot for a new spinoff series, starring Joseph Morgan as the 'vampire' character 'Klaus' and Phoebe Tonkin as the female 'werewolf' 'Hayley':

"...'The Originals' title refers to Klaus’ status as one of the original vampires in the show’s mythology. Also prominently featured will be werewolf Hayley, introduced in the current fourth season. 

"She and Klaus return to the 'French Quarter' of New Orleans. There, in the city he helped build centuries earlier, Klaus will be reunited with 'Marcel', a former protege..."

"The Vampire Diaries" show-runner Julie Plec will write and produce the new series.
