"Guardians Of The Galaxy" Increasing In Value

Marvel Studios' live-action PG-rated 3D feature "Guardians of the Galaxy", prepping for a summer 2013 start @ Shepperton Studios (UK) for director James Gunn will adapt Marvel Comics 25-issue, 2008 comic book series "Guardians of the Galaxy" (vol. 2), written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, that has seen its collector's price shoot from $2.99 to over $40. per issue.

"...'Guardians' is 95% in space," said Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige. "It’s much more of a standalone film."

In "Guardians of the Galaxy" issues #1-#10 :

"...back-to-back 'Annihilation' wars have weakened the boundaries of our universe. Dark gods and monsters are seeping through the cracks, reigning horror upon those still reeling from the recent calamities. In the face of terror, who stands to defend a desperate universe? 'Star-Lord' and the modern day 'Guardians of the Galaxy'.

"'Groot' is here, and exactly what or who have the Guardians discovered frozen and adrift in space?

"When their HQ is sabotaged, a  'Skrull' is suspected among the Guardians? Is it 'Star-Lord' hiding behind a mask? Or is it 'Rocket Raccoon' and a telepathic dog?

"On 'Knowhere', at the Guardian's transdimensional HQ, fear and mistrust boil to the surface as the mismatched team attempts to uncover the Skrull agents in their midst! Who can they trust?

"Trapped on Knowhere, the Guardians desperately race to uncover their Skrull infiltration. But why are the Skrulls in the Guardians' bizarre HQ, and what exactly are they up to? And even if the Guardians survive the danger, paranoia and intrigue, will the team itself be in one piece after all the cards are laid bare?

"At last, the skrull crisis in Knowhere is over. After a risky and successful plan, 'Drax' identifies the skrulls among them, but the infiltration was not the threat they thought they were facing. The real threat is even more subtle and more dangerous as the team falls apart after they discover how they were recruited.

" Star-Lord goes missing and the shocking revelations made at the end of their 'Secret Invasion' adventure rip the team apart! Is there anyone left to continue the task of guarding the galaxy? And who are the new additions to the team?

"After finding out that the skrulls infiltrated Knowhere, Star-Lord sends a message to 'Hala' to prevent against a possible invasion. But 'Ronan' was fully aware of the threat and not only got rid of the infiltrators, but uses them to power up the 'Babel Spire' that the 'Phalanx' left on Hala. After a fight between the 'Accuser' and  Star-Lord, 'Quill' is banished into the 'Negative Zone', where 'Blastaar' is the new. Meanwhile, the Guardians of the Galaxy defeat the new weapons of the 'Badoons', but this enemy may have an ace up their sleeves, as 'Major Victory' suggests.

"The drums of battle thunder in the Negative Zone – building to 'War Of Kings' as Rocket Raccoon and the Guardians face down Blastaar’s barbarian horde and Star-Lord fights for his life in the besieged 'Initiative' prison! And if our cosmic misfits fall – Earth is next..."
