William Friedkin's "Killer Joe"

VVS Films will release Oscar-winning director William Friedkin’s $10 million budgeted, 'Southern Gothic' feature "Killer Joe", on DVD/Blu-ray combo pack, December 21, 2012, starring a menacing Matthew McConaughey, Leonardo DiCaprio look-alike Emile Hirsch, a goofy Juno Temple, hard-working Gina Gershon and a dumbed-down Thomas Haden Church :

"...adapting the play by Pulitzer and Tony Award winner Tracy Letts, the premise of 'Killer Joe' starts with 'Chris Smith', an obnoxious drug dealer who decides that the only way to pay off his debt to bigger drug dealers is to collect on his estranged mother's life insurance money. Conspiring with his stupid father, 'Ansel', the ex-husband of Chris' mother, they decide to hire 'Killer Joe Cooper', a police detective who acts like a muscled 'Westworld' robot, with a parallel career as a psycho killer for hire.

"But Chris is unable to front Killer Joe's fee, and reluctantly agrees to let Joe take Chris' sister 'Dottie' as a retainer, until the insurance money comes through, to pay everybody off..."

The "Killer Joe" DVD/Blu-ray combo pack includes a behind-the-scenes featurette (DVD/Blu-ray) plus cast/crew interviews (DVD/Blu-ray).
