"It is an entirely new direction for me," said photographer Steve McCurry.
"I thought how can I try and make this my own, do it my way, and bring something new to it?
"And it seemed to me that an interesting direction would be to take some really gorgeous, beautiful women and make a series of portraits of them in Rio... probably one of the most beautiful cityscapes in the world..."
