"True Blood" Women Revealed

Sneak Peek images from the HBO supernatural drama TV series "True Blood" that ended Season 5, August 2012 with an episode cliff-hanger.

Based on the 'deep south' romances by author Charlaine Harris, the series was created by Alan Ball who will executive produce Season 6, premiering June 2013.

"...in the beginning, 'vampires' and other supernatural creatures lived unsuspected among humans until the creation of the synthetic blood, 'Tru Blood', that forced vampires to 'come out of the coffin' and reveal their existence to the world.

"This 'Great Revelation' divided vampires into those who wanted to integrate into human society, and to those who felt human-vampire co-existence was impossible because of supernatural 'conflicts'."

The series revolves around 'Sookie Stackhouse' (Anna Paquin), a 'Human-Fairy Hybrid', aka 'halfling', who is a waitress at 'Merlotte's' in the small Louisiana town of 'Bon Temps', owned by 'Sam Merlotte' (Sam Trammell), who is a hidden shapeshifter.

Other characters include 'Bill Compton' (Stephen Moyer), a 173-year-old vampire who has returned to Bon Temps to take up residence in his former home, 'Tara Thornton' (Rutina Wesley), Sookie's tough-talking best friend, Sookie's womanizing brother 'Jason' (Ryan Kwanten), the thousand-year-old vampire and Sheriff of Area 5, 'Eric Northman' (Alexander SkarsgÄrd) and 'Lafayette Reynolds' (Nelsan Ellis), a short order cook and drug dealer.

Besides the introduction of Cajun sex, shapeshifters, 'werewolves', 'fairies' and witches, the show also explores contemporary issues including equal rights, hard drug addiction and the healing powers of faith.
