Bradley Cooper Gets Hyper Over "Hyperion"

Producer, actor Bradley Cooper continues to adapt author Dan Simmons 1989 Hugo award-winning science fiction novel "Hyperion" into a feature film.

The book is the first of the "Hyperion Cantos", featuring multiple time-lines and characters :

"...in the 28th century, humanity has spread across the galaxy, first aboard 'Hawking Drive' spaceships and then through 'farcasters', which permits instantaneous travel regardless of the distances. The farcaster network (aka the 'WorldWeb') is an infrastructural and economical basis, determining culture and society.

"Also flowing across these portals are the structures of the 'datasphere', where the 'TechnoCore' lurks, with millions of AIs running high technology for mankind. Then a space war threatens 'Hyperion', a planet known for the 'Time Tombs' – large artifacts that can move through time and are guarded by a gruesome monster called the 'Shrike'..."
