No Brakes On A "Premium Rush"

Sneak Peek writer/director David Koepp's new Columbia Pictures' action thriller "Premium Rush" starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Shannon, Aaron Tveit and Dania Ramirez :

"...dodging speeding cars, crazed cabbies, open doors, and eight million cranky pedestrians is all in a day's work for 'Wilee' (Gordon-Levitt), the best of New York's agile and aggressive bicycle messengers. It takes a special breed to ride the 'fixie', a super lightweight, single-gear bike with no brakes and riders who are skilled cyclists and suicidal nutcases who risk danger every time they head into traffic.

"But a guy who's used to putting his life on the line is about to get more than even he is used to when a routine delivery turns into a life or death chase through the streets of Manhattan. When Wilee picks up his last envelope of the day from Columbia University, on a 'premium rush' run, he discovers this package is different. This time, someone is actually trying to kill him, as dirty cop 'Bobby' (Shannon), desperate to get his hands on the envelope, chases Wilee through the city..."

Gordon-Levitt was injured during filming, August 1, 2010, when he was cycling too fast and hit the back of a taxi. The impact sent him flying into the rear windshield of the taxi, slashing his arm which required 31 stitches.

"Premium Rush" opens August 24, 2012
