'Chuckie' Reboot Is "Child's Play"

After Sony reboots "RoboCop", followed by "Poltergeist", MGM will remake "Child's Play", with a screenplay by Don Mancini, the original screen writer of all the previous "Child's Play" features.

Actor Brad Dourif ("Deadwood") will also return as the voice of the demonically-possessed children's doll 'Chucky'.

The original "Child's Play", released in 1988, was directed by Tom Holland, starring Catherine Hicks and Chris Sarandon.

"...In Chicago, Illinois, while being chased by 'Detective Mike Norris' (Sarandon), criminal 'Charles Lee Ray' (Dourif), is shot. Mortally wounded, Ray takes cover inside a toy store, finding boxes of talking 'Good Guy' dolls. Then, using a voodoo ritual, Ray transfers his soul into one of the dolls..."
