ABC Likes "Hulk", Unlikes "Jessica Jones"

While Disney-owned ABC continues to pursue its development of another "Hulk" TV series, based on the Marvel Comics' character, ABC entertainment president Paul Lee also confirmed the network passed on a series, based on Marvel Comics' 'Jessica Jones':

This news comes after
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige said 'Jessica Jones' would be his personal choice for the next Marvel comic book character to be realized in film.

'Jessica Campbell Jones Cage' was created by writer Brian Michael Bendis and illustrator Michael Gaydos, debuting in Marvel Comics "Alias" as an embittered former superheroine.

After retiring from the business, Jessica became owner and sole employee of 'Alias Private Investigations'.

"...'Midtown High' student 'Jessica Campbell' was present when 'Peter Parker' was bitten by the irradiated spider that gave him his powers. Soon thereafter, Jessica was riding in a car with her family when they collided with a military convoy carrying radioactive chemicals. Her family was killed and, after spending several months in a coma, she was placed in foster care and adopted by the 'Jones' family.
Months later she awoke, stirred by the first arrival of 'Galactus' outside her hospital room. Jessica later discovered that the radioactive materials she was exposed to in the accident had granted her super strength, limited invulnerability and flight..."

Jessica eventually lives with superhero 'Luke Cage', giving birth to a daughter, 'Danielle', named after Luke's best friend, 'Danny Rand' (a.k.a. 'Iron Fist'). Cage then proposes with the two married in "New Avengers Annual" #1.

In addition to her superhuman powers, Jessica is a skilled detective and investigative journalist.
