Following the news of DreamWorks and Working Title developing a big screen adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock's "Rebecca", Paramount is now interested in adapting director Alfred Hitchcock’s 1941 romantic thriller "Suspicion", based on author Francis Illes’s 1932 novel "Before the Fact".
Veena Sud, showrunner of AMC's "The Killing" will direct the new "Suspicion" from her own adapted screenplay :
"...wealthy but plain 'Lina Mclaidlaw', marries the charming and feckless 'Johnny Aysgarth' against the advice of her father. Lina is certain she can change him for the better, until she is forced to acknowledge Johnny really is a compulsive liar, thief and killer.
"But still she loves him, all the while fearing she will become one of his victims..."
