"The Deadly Spawn" and "Hell on Earth"- January 24, 2012

Synthia.Ca reports that "The Deadly Spawn: Millennium Edition" on Blu-ray and "Hell on Earth" on DVD will be released January 24, 2012, courtesy Elite Entertainment:

"...in the 1983 sci fi classic, 'The Deadly Spawn', two campers in the New Jersey woods have their outdoor fun interrupted by the arrival of a meteorite crashing nearby. They go to investigate the crater, but are suddenly attacked by aliens who have hitched a ride to Earth.

"The space monsters head for a nearby town, where they make their domain in the basement of an old house. Four teenagers and one boy try to find a way to stop the creatures before they reproduce, wreaking havoc on humanity..."

"...in 'Hell on Earth', seventeen year old 'Bobby' walks with the help of metal leg braces, living with his nasty parents and repulsive sister 'Peggy'. "Holmes" Writer Enters "The Twilight Zone"

Writer Anthony Peckham ("Sherlock Holmes") is in final negotiations to script "The Twilight Zone", based on the classic Rod Serling-created TV series, as a big screen sci fi, horror, fantasy feature for Warner Bros. Pictures and Appian Way.

Peckham will rewrite a previous draft by Jason Rothenberg.

Matt Reeves ("Cloverfield") will direct.

Appian Way partners Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson Killoran will produce with Michael Ireland. Matt Cherniss will executive produce.

Serling's original "Twilight Zone" series debuted in 1959 on CBS, running for five seasons, with Serling writing more than half of 156 episodes.

In 1983, Warners released "Twilight Zone: The Movie," with both Steven Spielberg and John Landis directing segments.

"13": Spin. Aim. Survive. - December 13, 2011

Director Géla Babluani's gritty thriller "13" THIRTEEN, starring Jason Statham, Michael Shannon, Mickey Rourke, Ray Winstone, Alexander Skarsgård and Sam Riley, will be released by VVS Films, in a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack, Tuesday, December 13, 2011, in both English and French.

The film is a remake of Babluani's French-language 2005 directorial debut "13 Tzameti", winner of the 2006 Sundance Film Festival's World Cinema Jury Prize :


"...'Vince' (Riley) has a sick father and the mounting medical bills may ruin his family. 'Jasper' (Statham) is a hard-as-nails gambler who will put anything on the line for the 'big win'. 'Jefferson' (Rourke) is a convicted felon who is trying to reclaim his freedom.

"These three men will collide in a violent underground world of power and greed, where the elite bet on the lives of the desperate, and the only way to win is to survive..."
