Howard Stern Joins "America's Got Talent"

In what may seem like a desperate ratings move by NBC, shock jock radio personality Howard Stern will replace Piers Morgan, as the next 'judge' on the network's reality entertainment TV series, "America's Got Talent".

Morgan, who filled CNN's "Larry King Live" timeslot with "Piers Morgan Tonight", is currently preparing to testify in a British inquiry into 'media ethics'.

"Howard Stern's larger-than-life personality will bring a thrilling new dynamic to 'America's Got Talent' starting this summer," said Paul Telegdy, president of alternative and late night programming for NBC. "He’s a proven innovator and his track record in broadcasting is truly remarkable."

"America's Got Talent", is part of the global "British Got Talent" franchise featuring performers of all ages competing for the advertised top prize of $1 million.

Among its significant features is giving a televised opportunity to talented amateurs and unknowns, with the results decided by an audience vote.

Stern has had previous experience as a 'judge' on his filmed radio shows, using laser pointers to point out physical flaws of aspiring models and actresses, complimented by his now familiar sex and toilet humor shtick.

Its not known if Stern will have more plastic surgery in preparation for his NBC summer debut, or if the network will make attempts to bleep his amusing, scathing, social commentary.
