'Elly Mae Clampett' Wins 'Barbie' Doll Claim

Actress Donna Douglas, who played comedic rural character 'Elly May Clampett' on the 1960's TV series, "The Beverly Hillbillies" ('inspired' by cartoonist Al Capp's "L'il Abner" comic strip and the character 'Daisy Mae') has finally settled her lawsuit with Mattel and CBS over a 'Barbie' doll that used her name and likeness.

Douglas received no residuals for her nine seasons on the show, including the subsequent world-wide TV syndication of the comedy series.

She was seeking at least $75,000 in her lawsuit against CBS and Mattel.

Douglas sued CBS Consumer Products and Mattel Inc., saying that they used her likeness without her permission.
