Producers Dig "Empty Coffin"

Bestselling 'young adult' author Gregg Olsen has sold the movie rights to his novel series "Empty Coffin" to Kerry Kimmel & Pollack and Eric Thompson's Vigilante Entertainment.

Kerry Kimmel & Pollack's CEO, Michael Pollak ("Black Forest") and president Mark Morgan ("Twilight") will produce with Eric Thompson ("Rites of Spring"), Brett Hudson and Kami Garcia.

The first book in the series is "Envy" :

"...evil lurks in the Pacific Northwest. Dubbed by locals as 'Empty Coffin', the quaint town of 'Port Gamble' has secrets. Not everything is as great as it looks in the postcards. Historic homes sit side-by-side in a place overshadowed by tragedy where everyone seemingly knows everyone. The graveyard along the waterfront and an ominous bridge connecting Port Gamble to the rest of the world are a constant reminder that death is just a doorstep away.

"One minute 'Katelyn' is a depressed teen with a loser life. The next, she’s lying on a stainless steel slab, eyes glassy, skin frosted over and very, very dead.

"Down the street from Katelyn, twins 'Hayley' and 'Taylor Ryan' can’t escape the encroaching winter darkness. As they recover from the shock of Katelyn’s death, they realize how entwined they already are in the evil circulating Empty Coffin. And while they can’t explain it, an unknown force pushes them to uncover the truth..."

"Empty Coffin: Envy" will start Fall 2012.
