Alcon Dives Into "Point Break"

Alcon Entertainment report they are fast-tracking a remake, including all television and video gaming rights, of director Kathryn Bigelow's 1991 action thriller "Point Break" for a release through Warner Bros.

Johnson and Jimmy Carter.

"Pursuing Pappas' theory that the criminals are surfers, Utah goes undercover to infiltrate the surfing community. Knowing nothing of the sport/lifestyle, Utah persuades orphan surfer girl 'Tyler Endicott' to teach him to surf.

Acting on a hunch, Utah develops a complex friendship with 'Bodhi', leader of a gang of surfers, that includes 'Roach', 'Grommet' and 'Nathaniel', who accept Utah when they realize he is a great athlete. As he masters the art of surfing, Utah finds himself increasingly drawn to the surfers adrenaline-charged lifestyle, Bodhi's philosophies and Tyler..."
