Sneak Peek the new teaser poster supporting producer/director Peter Berg's Universal adaptation of the popular 'strategy' board game "Battleship".
The film stars Canadian Taylor Kitsch ("John Carter") as commander 'Alex Hopper' who will lead a fleet of naval ships in the fight against an 'alien' armada. Screenplay is by writers Jon and Erich Hoeber.
"Battleship" is scheduled for a May 18, 2012 release, with shooting to start later this year.
The original "Battleship", an unpatented game created by Clifford Von Wickler in the early 1900's, was subsequently taken over by the Milton Bradley Company in 1943 and released as the pad-and-pencil game "Broadsides, the Game of Naval Strategy".
