"Deathly Hallows" Conjures Up Half A Billion Dollars

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2", put a wizard's spell over worldwide audiences, conjuring up a bewitching $168.6 million in North American ticket sales over the film's opening weekend, for a $476 million total global haul.

Internationally, the 3D "Potter" grabbed $307 million in 59 countries since it opened last week, including weekend sales, as well as Wednesday and Thursday in some markets.

The eighth film in the "Harry Potter" series about a 'good' teenage wizard and his ongoing struggle against reptilian evil, earned an average of $38,526 on more than 4,300 screens.

Noted as the highest-grossing film franchise in history, the "Potter" movie phenomenon, based on the young adult sorcery novels of Brit author J.K. Rowling, have so far conjured up over $6.4 billion in global ticket sales.
