According to HBO, producers Jerry Bruckheimer and Michael Bay continue to develop their "Miami Vice"-like TV pilot "Cocaine Cowboys" with writer Michelle Ashford ("The Pacific") attached to write a new script:
The potential series is 'inspired' by Billy Corben's 2006 doc "Cocaine Cowboys", focusing on the illegal coke trade and resulting crime wave in Miami during the 1970's, noted as "...the incredible true story that inspired "Scarface" and "Miami Vice".
The new pilot will be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Television and Warner Bros. TV, borrowing situations, but not specific characters from the "CC" documentary.
