Avril Lavigne Does "Vanity Fair"

Sneak Peek 26-year old Canadian pop singer Avril Lavigne in a new editorial by photographer Mark Liddell for the Italian edition of "Vanity Fair" magazine.

At the age of 16, Lavigne signed a recording contract with Arista, (now RCA Records), in a two-album deal worth more than $2 million. When she was 17 years old, her debut album "Let Go" was released, making Lavigne the youngest female soloist to reach #1 in the UK and certified four-times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

As of 2009, over 16 million copies of "Let Go" have been sold worldwide, with more than 6 million sold in the US. Her breakthrough single, "Complicated", peaked at #1. Lavigne's second album, "Under My Skin", was released in 2004, peaking at #1 on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling more than 10 million copies worldwide.

"The Best Damn Thing", Lavigne’s third album, released in 2007 gave the singer her third #1 album in the UK, featuring her first US Billboard Hot 100 #1 single, "Girlfriend".

Lavigne has so far scored a total of five #1 singles worldwide, including "Complicated", "Sk8er Boi", "I'm With You", "My Happy Ending" and "Girlfriend".

With more than 30 million copies of her albums sold worldwide, Lavigne is currently one of the top-selling artists in the world, with her fourth studio album, "Goodbye Lullaby" and single "What The Hell", due to be released March 2011.
