Weinstein Exploring Disturbing Life Forms On The Moon

The Weinstein Company reports they have acquired "Apollo 18," a sci-fi thriller based on a screenplay by Brian Miller, winner of the 'Astana International Action Film Festival' screenplay competition, founded by "Wanted" director Timur Bekmambetov.

Trevor Cawood will direct "Apollo 18", for producers Bekmambetov and Michele Wolkoff, Bekmambetov Projects Ltd. (BPL).

To be lensed 'documentary style', the new film "...unearths lost footage from Apollo 18’s undocumented and covert mission to the moon, revealing disturbing new evidence of other life forms..."

The 'Apollo 18' moon mission was originally planned July 1969 to land in the moon's 'Schroter's Valley', but NASA 'cancelled' the mission because of congressional cuts.

"Apollo 18" will start filming in December for a March 2011 release.
