VisionTV Picks Up "EastEnders"

The long-running UK soap series "EastEnders" premiering September 20 in prime time on Canada's VisionTV, continues the story-line from the last BBC Canada episode, that aired June 17.

VisionTV will continue to broadcast "EastEnders" Mondays through Fridays at 9 pm. ET / 6 p.m. PT, with full episodes also streamed online at VisionTV Video on Demand.

Debuting in the UK on BBC One, February 19, 1985, "EastEnders" ranks as one of the most watched shows in Britain, examining the domestic and professional lives of people who live and work in the fictional London Borough of 'Walford' in the East End of London.

The series primarily focuses on the residents of Albert Square, a Victorian square of terraced houses and its neighbouring roads, Bridge Street, Turpin Road and George Street, encompassing a pub, street market, night club, community centre, cafe, small businesses and a park.

"We don't make life, we reflect it", said "EastEnders" creator/producer Julia Smith.

"We decided to go for a realistic, fairly outspoken type of drama which could encompass stories in a believable context. Above all, we want realism"...
