Craig Inks A Deal For "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo"
Actor Daniel Craig ("Road To Perdition", "Casino Royale") is negotiating to take the lead role in a US adaptation of the Swedish film trilogy, "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo", to be directed by David Fincher ("Fight Club"), based on "The Girl..." books by Swedish author/journalist Stieg Larsson.
Casting is still underway to find female lead 'Lisbeth Salander', a greasy, nose-ringed computer hacker, recruited by framed journalist 'Mikael Blomkvist' to find a missing woman, 'Harriet Banger'.
"The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo", the 2009 Swedish feature starring actress Noomi Rapace as Salander was directed by Niels Arden Oplev.
The film is the first in the "Millennium" trilogy, to be followed by "The Girl Who Played With Fire" and "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest".
