Warners Interactive Caught Up In Turbine

Warner Bros. will spend $160 million to acquire privately-held Boston gamemaker Turbine, for Warner Bros. Interactive, enabling control over all games based on author J.R.R. Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" books and to develop internet games based on DC Comics' superhero characters.

Turbine currently produces "Lord of the Rings Online," "Dungeons & Dragons Online" and "Asheron's Call", also ready to launch DC Universe Online as a multi-player web property with Sony Online Entertainment and DC comics.
