John Lennon Is The "Nowhere Boy"

"Nowhere Boy", the directorial debut of Sam Taylor-Wood, is a bio-pic, focusing on Beatle John Lennon's childhood and adolescence, based on the book "Imagine This: Growing Up With My Brother John Lennon" by Lennon's half sister Julia Baird.

The story follows Lennon's teenage years and first steps to stardom, charting the influence his Aunt Mimi, mother Julia and friendship with Paul McCartney had on his career.

British actor Aaron Johnson plays Lennon and Thomas Sangster plays McCartney, with Kristin Scott Thomas as aunt Mimi and Anne-Marie Duff as Julia.

Screenplay was written by Matt Greenhalgh.

Producers negotiated with Yoko Ono for the rights to use some of Lennon's original songs in the film, with British electronica duo Goldfrapp scoring the main soundtrack.

The film debuted October 2009 @ the London Film Festival and is set for a limited release in North America October 2010.
