De Luca Gets His Signals "Crossed"

Producer Ken F. Levin, with Sony-based Michael De Luca, Jason Netter and Kevin Spacey's Trigger Street Prods. will develop an independent film adaptation of comic book writer Garth Ennis' ten-issue, Avatar Press, limited edition, graphic novel series "Crossed".

A screenplay by Ennis is currently out to directors.

Dana Brunetti will oversee for Trigger Street, in locking down financing.

A comic book followup, "Crossed: Family Values", written by David Lapham, will be published by Avatar later this year.

Ennis' creator-owned series, debuted with "Crossed" #0, August 27, 2008.

"It’s pretty obvious that what you have with 'Crossed' is a ready-made fictional world with a good deal of potential for further development," said Ennis.

Featuring the usual 'zombie' dreck and dross, "Crossed" follows survivors dealing with a plague that causes victims to spread a contagion though violent sexual assaults.

Carriers of the virus, aka the 'Crossed' are marked by a cross-like scar on their faces.

The main story takes place ten months after the first outbreaks, with flashbacks narrated in the past tense.
