"Watchmen" Writer Exploring The "Fourth Realm"

Fox has picked up screen rights to the "Fourth Realm" book series, written by author John Twelve Hawks.

Screenplay will be adapted by "Watchmen" writer Alex Tse for producers Gil Netter ("The Blind Side") and Andrew Tennenbaum ("The Bourne Identity").

The first book,
"The Traveler", published by Random House in 2006, follows a society run by a secret organization that controls the population through surveillance. The 'Travelers', a nearly extinct group of rebels, who can project their spirit into other dimensions, work with protectors called 'Harlequins', to fight the government rule, with Harlequin 'Maya', protecting two Traveler brothers.

Writer Tse also scripted an adaptation of author Ray Bradbury's "The Illustrated Man" for "Watchmen" director Zach Snyder...
