"Highlander" Reboot Makes The Cut...

Summit Entertainment has attached Justin "Fast And Furious: Tokyo Drift" Lin to direct a reboot of the fantasy action premise "Highlander".

Summit Entertainment, noted for the "Twilight" films acquired "Highlander" remake rights from Davis-Panzer Prods.

Screenplay for the new film is by writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway of "Iron Man" fame.

The orginal 1986 "Highlander" feature, directed by Russell Mulcahy, starred actors Christopher "Greystoke" Lambert, Sean Connery, Clancy Brown and Roxanne Hart, launching four sequels, three TV series and numerous Dynamite! comic book titles.

Producers of the reboot are long-time "Highlander" exec Peter Davis and Neil "The Green Hornet" Moritz.

The new film will focus on the 'immortal' Scottish swordsman 'Connor MacLeod' who must confront a barbarian who lusts for a fabled prize.
