Columbia Pictures "Julie & Julia" is the new feature from writer/director Nora "Sleepless In Seattle" Ephron, depicting events in the life of famed real-life chef 'Julia Child'.Ephron's screenplay is adapted from the books "My Life in France", Child's autobiography, written with Alex Prud'homme and a memoir by Julie Powell.
In August 2002, Powell started documenting online her daily experiences cooking each of the 524 recipes in Child's "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" and she later began reworking that blog, "The Julie/Julia Project" into the 2005 novel "Julie & Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen".The book was retitled for a 2006 paperback as "Julie & Julia: My Year of Cooking Dangerously".
Noted as the first major motion picture based on a 'blog', actress Meryl Streep portrays 'Julia Child' and Amy Adams plays 'Julie Powell'.
