The largest group of film/TV employees in British Columbia have ratified a new 3-year deal with US producers.The agreement includes a 2% hike and significant contributions to health andf welfare programs.
The master agreement, between the Canadian affiliates of the Motion Picture and Television Producers and the BC Council of Film Unions, started June 7, 2009 and will run to 2012.
The goal of the new deal is to provide a stable labour relations framework for US producers that shoot in BC and establishes jurisdiction of emerging new media.
