The CW has picked up a pilot based on the books "Vampire Diaries", by author L.J. Smith from Alloy Entertainment, who previously optioned books that introduced the TV series "Gossip Girl" and "Privileged."
Originally published in 1993, "Vampire Diaries" follows a young woman whose torn between two vampire brothers, one good and one evil, that battle for her soul, her friends and her family.
Writer Kevin "Scream" Williamson will script and executive produce.
Warner Bros. TV owns the flm rights to all 4 books in the "Vampire Diaries" series...
