Sneak Peek first reported in an exclusive world scoop November 2006, that Steven Spielberg was planning to film Herge's "Tintin" adventures, "The Secret Of The Unicorn" and "Red Rackham's Treasure".
Now Paramount Pictures and Sony Pictures Entertainment have started principal photography on Spielberg's motion-capture 3-D feature "The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn", with actor Jamie Bell cast as 'Tintin', a globe-trotting reporter and Daniel "James Bond" Craig as the villain 'Red Rackham'.
The feature is being produced by Spielberg, Kathleen Kennedy and Peter Jackson, who will direct the sequel "Red Rackham's Treasure".
Jackson's Weta Digital effects house developed the performance-capture technology used in the film.
Voice cast includes Andy Serkis, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Gad Elmaleh, Toby Jones and Mackenzie Crook.
Nick Rodwell, Stephane Sperry and Ken Kamins are executive producers.
The screenplay, written by Steven Moffat, Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish, is based on the comic strip character created in 1929 by Belgian Herge.
Paramount will release the films domestically and in all English-speaking territories and Asia, excluding India. Sony Pictures Releasing International will distribute the film in continental Europe, Eastern Europe, Latin America, India and the rest of the world...
