Director John Carpenter's 1988 feature "They Live" will be remade by Universal and studio-based Strike Entertainment, currently in negotiations to acquire film rights from Les Mougins.
Strike's Marc Abraham and Eric Newman will produce, with Shep Gordon of Les Mougins and Carpenter, serving as executive producers.
The original sci fi thriller, inspired by a Gene Colan-illustrated story appearing in Warren Publishing's 1960's adult horror comic book "Creepy" Magazine, focuses on a construction worker who finds a pair of glasses that allows him to see aliens walking among humanity, hypnotically disguised as ordinary people.
