Paramount Pictures will make an animated film based on characters appearing in the 1970's 'adult illustrated' fantasy comic magazine Heavy Metal with director David "Fight Club" Fincher developing the project for multiple directors.
The Heavy Metal movie will use erotic/violent storylines that remain the trademark of the magazine that debuted in 1977, showcasing artists the likes of Richard Corben and H.R. Giger.

The film will consist of eight or nine individual segments, each helmed by a different director.
