Luc Besson's production, distribution, sales company EuropaCorp has acquired bigscreen adaptation rights to the novel "La Mecanique du coeur" (The Mechanics of the Heart) by author Mathias Malzieu, with plans to develop a 3-D animated movie.
Set in 1874, the story focuses on a young man whose heart was replaced at birth by a mechanical clock.
Stephane Berla will co-direct and Joann Sfar, who contributed graphics for the book, will collaborate.
"Mecanique" is the second animated feature to be added to EuropCorp's slate, following "Arthur and the Invisibles"...
