Summit Stakes Out "Twilight"...

Summit Entertainment has signed Catherine "Lords of Dogtown" Hardwicke to direct "Twilight," an adaptation of the novel by author Stephenie Meyer.

Producers are Maverick Films' Mark Morgan and Greg Mooradian.

"Twilight" follows 17-year-old 'Bella', who moves to a small town to live with her father and becomes attracted to a classmate who comes from a family of vampires.

Meyer also published two more installments, "New Moon" and "Eclipse".

"Twilight" is the first franchise to be set up at Summit under Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger.
