Virgin CEO Richard Branson has announced he will bring back the comic book hero 'Dan Dare' as "Dan Dare: Pilot Of The Future" for a new series of comic book adventures and a feature film.
The character originally launched as a comic strip character in the 1950's "Eagle" magazine.
"Dan Dare is a heroic, thoughtful and fiercely independent character," Branson said.
"I was an avid reader of his epic journeys."

The new comic books will debut in November, written by Garth "Preacher" Ennis."Dan Dare is the quintessential British hero," Ennis said.
"He's our 'Captain America', our 'Superman', our 'Batman'...he's all of them rolled into one."Premise of the new series will have Dare emerge from exile, in a post-nuclear world where the UK is the last remaining superpower.
