Actors John Malkovich, Evangeline Lilly and Romain Duris will star in "Afterwards", a Canada-France co-pro starting June 4 in Montreal.
Directed by Gilles Bourdos, the $10-million production will be produced by Canada's Christal Films Productions and France's Fidelite Films.
Premise focuses on a lawyer (Duris), distanced from his wife (Lilly) and daughter.
Malkovich will portray a creepy doctor who claims to have supernatural powers.
Alberta-born Lilly was previously nominated for a Golden Globe for her role on TV's "Lost".
Producer is Christal Film's Christian Larouche working from a screenplay by Bourdos and Michel Spinosa, based on the novel "Et apres" from French author Guillaume Musso.
Christal reportedly is financing 30% of the film and will distribute the feature in Canada, planning a 2008 theatrical release.
The six-week shoot will involve locations in Montreal, New York and New Mexico.
