A Talking Penguin Named 'Pepe'

"M-O-N-Y" is an upcoming, NBC dramatic TV pilot, to be directed by Spike Lee, on or about March 7 in New York.

Focusing on an outspoken public advocate that becomes the interim mayor of New York, "M-O-N-Y" stars Bobby Cannavale. Executive producer is Barry Levinson.

The pilot is still casting series regulars:

'MARCIE FUTTERMAN'

30s, attractive, funny with a biting wit, a real New Yorker. She is the Mayor's private secretary, a civil servant who's "been around since the Giuliani administration. She knows everything that's happening in the building." Highly professional, but very warm once the icy veneer is cracked, Marcie had a brief fling with 'Joe Capanelli' about six months back. She claims to be over any feelings she had for him, but now that he's back in her midst, things start heating up a bit.

'PHIL HARRIS'

20s, African-American, Republican party operative. Pleased to give 'Francine' some dirt on Capanelli. Phil learned Joe had a DUI at 16, and hit an old lady;

'SARAH HOLT'

50s. Loving, nurturing wife and mother of 5 grown children. Together they make the difficult decision to take Mayor Holt off life support;

Additional reports also confirm there will be a talking penguin named 'Pepe' in the show.
