Sigourney Strips for HBO

Sigourney "Alien" Weaver will play the role of burlesque stripper 'Gypsy Rose Lee' in the upcoming HBO production "Gypsy and Me".

The film is based on the memoir "My G-String Mother: At Home And Backstage With Gypsy Rose Lee" by author Eric Lee Preminger, son of Lee and film director Otto Preminger.

Born in 1911, Rose Louise Hovick, aka 'Gypsy Rose Lee' became famous in burlesque as a 'strip tease' artist.

Her own 1957 memoir became the source of the hit Broadway musical "Gypsy".

Weaver will also executive produce the film.
