Universal has signed actress Angelina "Lara Croft" Jolie to star alongside James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman in "Wanted", a graphic novel adaptation to be directed by Timur Bekmambetov. Filming starts in Eastern Europe this May.
McAvoy will play a young man who discovers his father is a criminal, only to be drafted to follow in his footsteps by a killer played by Jolie.Screenplay is by Michael Brandt and Derek Haas, with a rewrite by Dean "Lara Croft" Georgaris, tailoring the character for Jolie.
Marc Platt, Jim Lemley, Jason Netter and Iain Smith will produce.
