Canadian Mike Clattenburg's "Trailer Park Boys: The Movie", the big screen version of the popular Showcase TV series has been picked up for US/world distribution by Los Angeles' Myriad Pictures, noted for "Jeepers Creepers II", "The Shadow Chaser", "Stolen" and "Copying Beethoven.Myriad, founded in 1998, plans to put the $5 million budgeted film into wide commercial release for 2007.
"Trailer Park Boys: The Movie" had its Canadian world premiere in October, earning $1.5 million in its first weekend, noted as the highest opening of any English-language Canadian film.
The film has since grossed an estimated $4 million during its first commercial run.
