Where’s The Beef?

Director Brian "Scarface" De Palma's 1974 comedic horror feature "Phantom of the Paradise", is being developed as a Broadway musical.

In recent news, there are also reports of a Las Vegas show being mounted as a dedication to the film.

Written and directed by De Palma, "Phantom of the Paradise" is a satirical, supernatural look at the drugs-sex excesses of the 1970's rock music world, based on author Gaston Leroux' "Phantom of the Opera".

Memorable character performances include George Memmoli as 'Philbin', Gerrit Graham as 'Beef', Jessica Harper as 'Phoenix' and Paul Williams as 'Swan'.
