Written/directed by John Cameron "Hedwig" Mitchell, "Shortbus" explores the lives of characters living in present-day New York who converge at an underground salon called 'Shortbus'.Mitchell developed the film's story with an ensemble cast, selected after an open casting call.
Nearly 500 people sent in tapes before the final seven leading performers were selected to workshop the storyline.
