Toronto's FILMPORT Starts Construction

Toronto Film Studios Inc. have finally started construction on Toronto's first 'mega-studio'.

TFS president Ken Ferguson said an initial 260,000 square ft studio complex, comprising seven soundstages, will be ready for major film production by early 2008.

Phase 1 of the FILMPORT film and media complex will include a 45,000 square ft stage with 60 feet of clear height.

The studio complex, building on Toronto's waterfront, hopes to provide a quality soundstage in the city for use by domestic/foreign producers looking to shoot big budget VFX projects.
