Vancouver-based film-maker Dr. Uwe Boll, producer/director of multi-million dollar video game-to-movie adaptations, has successfully defeated his first 'film critic' challenger, in a boxing match in Spain.Carlos Palencia Jiménez-Argüello of the CineCutre site, is the first of five critic-vs-director boxing opponents that Boll will take on.
Earlier this year, after receiving negative reviews for his feature "BloodRayne", Boll challenged web critics to a boxing match.
"Many journalists make value judgments on my films based on the opinions of one or two thousand Internet voices," claims Boll.
"Half of those opinions come from people who’ve never watched my films.”
Boll proposed a 3-round match against anyone who would step into the ring with him.
The footage will be used in Boll's next British Columbia-shot feature "Postal", based on the popular video game.
